'Moru Curry' a south Indian recipe made by a Bengali

Moru Curry

We all badly miss our authentic 'Deshi' dishes from our respective countries who stays abroad. Moreover, last one and half years, throughout the world as well as in Malaysia 'Lockdown' situation due to Covid-19 become ever ending. How long the situation may continue is uncertain. But the desire to taste the 'Authentic dishes/dishes prepared by mother' does not understand whether it is lockdown or not. Therefore, some memorable events come up in our life.

One of my regular 'South Indian' customer who is very fond of 'Bangladeshi Cuisine' and regularly order different dishes, recently insist me whether I can prepare 'Moru Curry' or not. Though I agreed for continuous insistence, I was wondering 'What is Moru Curry'.

Actually 'Moru Curry' is Kerala style seasoned buttermilk curry, is nothing but buttermilk seasoned with Indian spices like ginger, garlic, green chilies, shallots, curry leaves etc. and traditionally made the 'tadka' with coconut oil. It can be enjoyed with Steamed Rice with a side of South Indian Rice Papad and a pickle of your choice.

However, to deliver the order I have surfed in Internet, observed different Kerala recipe for Moru Curry and finally prepared the first ever 'Moru Curry' by me. After finishing, when I taste the curry, I remember that I have already tasted it with 'Dosha' in Indian Restaurant. And it is one of my favorite curry but didn't know the name.

When the customer received the order, tasted it and Alhamdulillah, quite satisfied with it. Moreover, the taste was so authentic as the customer said and ordered the curry repeatedly afterwards. It was really a pleasant thing, explored a new recipe and able to deliver an authentic taste to 'Deshi' food Craver.
